- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan generously.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In a large bowl, cream softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
- In a small cup, whisk together the apple cider and yogurt/sour cream.
- Add the flour mixture and cider mixture to the butter mixture alternately, starting and ending with flour. Mix until just combined.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- While warm, brush the top with melted butter. Mix topping sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle heavily over the loaf.
Notes
For a stronger flavor, boil 1 cup of apple cider down to 1/2 cup before using.
