Apple Crisp Oatmilk Espresso

Ingredients
  

Apple Syrup
  • 1 large apple diced
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 1 stick cinnamon
Oat Crumble
  • 2 tbsp rolled oats
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 tbsp butter cold
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
The Drink
  • 2 shots espresso approx 2oz
  • 1 cup oat milk steamed
  • 1 dollop whipped cream optional

Equipment

  • Espresso Machine or Coffee Maker
  • Small saucepan
  • Fine-mesh sieve
  • Milk Frother

Method
 

  1. Simmer diced apple, brown sugar, water, and cinnamon in a saucepan for 15 mins until thickened. Strain to make syrup.
  2. Mix oats, flour, brown sugar, and butter. Toast in a pan for 3-4 mins until golden. Set aside.
  3. Brew 2 shots of espresso into a mug.
  4. Stir 2 tbsp of apple syrup into the hot espresso.
  5. Froth or steam the oat milk and pour over the coffee.
  6. Top with whipped cream, extra syrup drizzle, and the toasted oat crumble.

Notes

For an iced version, pour the espresso and syrup mixture over ice, then add cold milk and toppings.
