Ingredients

For the Crack Chicken Filling
  • 2 cups cooked chicken shredded (e.g., rotisserie)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 0.5 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 packet dry ranch seasoning mix 1 oz
  • 0.5 cup cooked bacon bits crumbled
  • 0.25 cup milk or chicken broth to adjust creaminess
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh chives or green onions
  • Pinch black pepper
For the Sliders Assembly
  • 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls or other slider buns
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder
  • Extra shredded cheddar cheese for topping
  • Extra chopped green onions for garnish

Equipment

  • 9x13 inch baking dish
  • Large mixing bowl

Method

  1. Prepare Filling: In a large bowl, combine shredded chicken, softened cream cheese, ½ cup cheddar cheese, ranch seasoning, bacon bits, milk/broth, chives/green onions, and pepper. Mix until creamy and gooey.
  2. Prep Buns: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice entire block of rolls horizontally. Place bottom halves in a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  3. Assemble Sliders: Evenly spread the chicken filling over the bottom buns. Place top halves of rolls back over the filling.
  4. Butter Topping: Melt butter and stir in garlic powder and onion powder. Brush mixture evenly over the tops of the slider buns.
  5. Bake: Cover loosely with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove foil, sprinkle extra cheddar cheese on top, and bake uncovered for another 5-10 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly, and buns are golden.
  6. Garnish & Serve: Remove from oven, garnish with extra chopped green onions. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

The chicken filling can be made 1-2 days in advance. For spicier sliders, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the filling. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
