- Preheat oven to 375°F and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
- In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese, 1/4 cup sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, 1/2 cup sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk melted butter, eggs, sour cream, milk, and lemon zest.
- Fold wet ingredients into dry ingredients until just combined; do not overmix.
- Gently fold in blueberries.
- Fill muffin cups with a layer of batter, a dollop of cream cheese, and more batter on top.
- Bake for 22-25 minutes or until golden and set.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before moving to a wire rack.
Notes
Store in the refrigerator due to the cream cheese filling. Can be frozen for up to 3 months.
