Blueberry Yogurt Dog Cupcakes

Healthy, homemade dog cupcakes made with oats, bananas, and blueberries, topped with a dog-safe yogurt frosting.

Ingredients
  

Cupcakes
  • 1 cup oat flour or whole wheat flour
  • 1 large banana ripe and mashed
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp peanut butter xylitol-free
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 0.25 cup water as needed
  • 0.5 cup blueberries fresh
Frosting
  • 0.5 cup Greek yogurt plain, xylitol-free
  • 1 tbsp cream cheese optional, for stability
  • 12 whole blueberries for garnish

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. In a bowl, mash the banana and whisk in the egg and peanut butter until smooth.
  3. Add oat flour and baking powder. Mix well. Add water if batter is too thick.
  4. Fold in the blueberries gently.
  5. Fill muffin cups 3/4 full. Bake for 15-20 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool completely on a wire rack.
  7. Mix Greek yogurt (and optional cream cheese) for frosting. Tint with blueberry juice if desired.
  8. Pipe frosting onto cooled cupcakes and top with fresh blueberries.

Notes

Ensure all peanut butter and yogurt used is Xylitol-free as it is toxic to dogs.
