Method
- Place a rocks glass in the freezer to chill for at least 10 minutes.
- Brew a fresh shot of espresso and let it cool for about a minute.
- Combine bourbon, espresso, simple syrup, and orange bitters in a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
- Shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds to chill and aerate the espresso (creating foam).
- Place a large ice cube (king cube) into the chilled rocks glass.
- Strain the cocktail mixture over the ice in the glass.
- Express the oils from the orange peel over the drink, rub the rim, twist, and place on top along with three coffee beans.
Notes
For extra foam, perform a 'dry shake' (shake ingredients without ice first) before adding ice and shaking again.
