Ingredients

Drink Base
  • 12 oz Cola Canned, very cold (e.g., Coke or Dr Pepper)
  • 2 cups Ice cubes or crushed ice
Flavors & Creams
  • 1 oz Heavy Whipping Cream or Half-and-Half Cold
  • 1 tbsp Chocolate Syrup Rich sauce style
  • 1 tbsp Toasted Marshmallow Syrup Or smoked caramel syrup
Optional Garnish
  • 4 whole Miniature Marshmallows Optional, lightly toasted
  • 1 tsp Graham Cracker Crumbs Optional, for rim or top

Equipment

  • Clear Cocktail Glasses
  • Measuring spoons
  • Gold Straws

Method

  1. For the best presentation, use chilled glasses. Remove two clear cocktail or highball glasses from the freezer.
  2. Drizzle the chocolate and toasted marshmallow syrups down the inside walls of each glass to create a dramatic swirled effect.
  3. Fill both glasses to the top with ice (crushed ice is preferred for dirty sodas).
  4. Carefully and slowly pour the chilled cola over the ice, leaving about an inch of space at the top.
  5. Gently pour the heavy cream or half-and-half over the top of the cola. It will partially float and slowly drift down, creating a marbled 'dirty' look.
  6. If using, top with mini marshmallows (toasted with a kitchen torch is best) and a dusting of graham cracker crumbs.
  7. Insert a straw (we love gold straws for this look) and serve immediately. Do not stir before serving; allow the guest to stir the layers themselves.

Notes

Always use fresh, cold, highly carbonated cola for this recipe. Do not make this ahead of time as it will go flat quickly.
