Ingredients
  

Biscuit Dough
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter cold and cubed
  • 1.5 cups sharp cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 cup buttermilk
Egg Layer
  • 6-8 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream
Garlic Butter Glaze
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried parsley

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a 9x13 baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and garlic powder. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  3. Stir in cheddar cheese and buttermilk until a shaggy dough forms.
  4. Crack eggs into the prepared baking dish, spacing them out. Drizzle with cream, salt, and pepper.
  5. Drop large scoops of biscuit dough over the eggs (or create wells in dough for eggs).
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes until biscuits are golden brown.
  7. Mix melted butter, garlic powder, and parsley. Brush over hot casserole immediately.
  8. Serve warm.

Notes

For extra flavor, add cooked bacon bits to the biscuit dough.
