Ingredients

Pasta & Meat
  • 1 lb ground beef lean
  • 12 oz bowtie pasta (farfalle) uncooked
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt plus more for water
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
Garlic Butter Sauce
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 5 cloves garlic minced
  • 0.5 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 cup parmesan cheese freshly grated
  • 0.25 cup fresh parsley chopped

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Large pot
  • Colander
  • Wooden spoon

Method

  1. Boil pasta in salted water according to package directions. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. While pasta cooks, brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain excess fat. Season with salt, pepper, and onion powder.
  3. Push beef to the side. Add butter to the skillet. Once melted, add garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir beef back in. Add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for 2 minutes.
  5. Add drained pasta to the skillet. Pour in 1/4 cup reserved pasta water.
  6. Toss vigorously until sauce coats the pasta. Add more pasta water if needed for glossiness.
  7. Remove from heat. Stir in parmesan cheese and parsley. Serve hot.

Notes

Don't forget to salt your pasta water generously; it's the only chance to flavor the pasta itself.
