Cheesy Pepperoni Pizza Tacos

A fun and delicious fusion of crunchy tacos and pepperoni pizza. Seasoned ground beef, marinara, and gooey mozzarella baked in crispy shells.

Ingredients
  

Taco Filling
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 cup pizza sauce or marinara
  • 0.5 cup onion finely diced
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
Assembly
  • 10-12 hard taco shells stand 'n stuff preferred
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 24 slices pepperoni
  • 2 tbsp fresh basil chopped, for garnish

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange taco shells in a 9x13 baking dish, standing them upright.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until beef is browned and onions are soft. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in the pizza sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and salt. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  4. Spoon the meat mixture evenly into the taco shells.
  5. Generously top each taco with shredded mozzarella cheese, covering the meat.
  6. Place 2-3 pepperoni slices on top of the cheese on each taco.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbling and pepperoni is slightly crispy.
  8. Remove from oven, garnish with fresh basil if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra crispy shells, pre-bake the empty shells for 3 minutes before filling.
