Method
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange taco shells in a 9x13 baking dish, standing them upright.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until beef is browned and onions are soft. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in the pizza sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and salt. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
- Spoon the meat mixture evenly into the taco shells.
- Generously top each taco with shredded mozzarella cheese, covering the meat.
- Place 2-3 pepperoni slices on top of the cheese on each taco.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbling and pepperoni is slightly crispy.
- Remove from oven, garnish with fresh basil if desired, and serve immediately.
Notes
For extra crispy shells, pre-bake the empty shells for 3 minutes before filling.
