Ingredients
  

Bread Batter
  • 0.5 cup vegetable oil or canola oil
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs large, room temp
  • 1 cup milk whole milk is best
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp nutmeg ground
Topping
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon ground

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together oil, sugar, eggs, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.
  4. Pour dry ingredients into wet ingredients and mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  6. Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let bread cool in pan for 10 minutes, then remove to a wire rack to cool slightly.
  8. Melt the butter in a small bowl. Mix the cinnamon and sugar in a separate shallow dish.
  9. Brush the warm loaf all over with melted butter, then roll in the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat completely.

Notes

Store in an airtight container to keep moist. Warm slightly before serving.
