Ingredients

  • 1 sheet Puff Pastry thawed
  • 8 ounces Brie Cheese sliced into 1/4-inch pieces
  • 1 cup Cranberry Sauce thick & viscous, homemade or store-bought
  • 1 large Egg beaten (for egg wash, optional)
  • Optional Garnishes chopped pecans, crumbled bacon, fresh thyme sprigs

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper

Method

  1. Prep: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Unroll thawed puff pastry onto it.
  2. Score Pastry: Lightly score a 1-inch border around the edges of the pastry (do not cut through).
  3. Add Sauce: Spread the thick, viscous cranberry sauce evenly within the scored border.
  4. Arrange Brie: Place the sliced Brie cheese over the cranberry sauce.
  5. Egg Wash (Optional): Brush the pastry border with beaten egg for a golden crust.
  6. Bake: Bake for 20-25 minutes, until pastry is golden and puffed, and Brie is completely melted, bubbly, and gooey.
  7. Garnish & Serve: Remove from oven. Garnish with pecans, bacon, or thyme if desired. Let cool 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving. The gooey cheese and thick cranberry sauce will be hot!

Notes

Ensure puff pastry is fully thawed but still cold. Use a thick cranberry sauce to prevent a soggy crust. Brie at room temperature melts more evenly. This tart is best served warm to enjoy the gooey cheese.
