Ingredients

Crust
  • 1.5 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 0.25 tsp salt
Filling & Toppings
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk 14 oz
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups fresh cranberries chopped if large
  • 1.5 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 0.5 cup white chocolate chips optional

Equipment

  • 9x9 inch baking pan
  • Mixing bowls
  • Parchment paper
  • Wire rack

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x9 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix graham cracker crumbs, sugar, salt, and melted butter until combined and crumbly.
  3. Press the crumb mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan. Bake for 8 minutes to set the crust. Remove from oven.
  4. In a small bowl, stir the vanilla extract into the sweetened condensed milk.
  5. Pour the milk mixture evenly over the warm crust.
  6. Sprinkle the fresh cranberries and chocolate chips evenly over the milk layer. Press down gently.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until edges are golden brown and bubbling. The center may still wobble slightly.
  8. Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack for at least 3 hours before slicing into squares.

Notes

For cleaner cuts, chill the bars in the refrigerator for 1 hour after they have cooled to room temperature.
