Ingredients
  

Slaw Base
  • 4 cups red cabbage shredded
  • 4 cups green cabbage shredded
  • 2 carrots julienned
  • 1 cup broccoli florets finely chopped
  • 1 bunch green onions chopped
  • 1 cup crispy chow mein noodles for topping
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds toasted
Dressing
  • 0.33 cup soy sauce
  • 0.25 cup rice vinegar
  • 0.33 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger grated
  • 2 cloves garlic minced

  • Large mixing bowl

Method
 

  1. Combine shredded cabbages, julienned carrots, chopped broccoli, and green onions in a very large bowl.
  2. In a separate jar or small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, vegetable oil, sesame oil, honey, ginger, and garlic until emulsified.
  3. Pour about 3/4 of the dressing over the vegetables and toss well to coat.
  4. Transfer the slaw to a serving platter, piling it high into a mound.
  5. Drizzle the remaining dressing over the top.
  6. Top generously with crispy chow mein noodles and sesame seeds immediately before serving to maintain crunch.

Notes

Add cooked chicken or shrimp to make it a main dish.
