  • 1.5 cups cherries pitted fresh, drained, or pie filling (divided)

Equipment

  • 9x9 Baking pan
  • Parchment paper
  • Large mixing bowl

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x9 inch baking pan with parchment paper and lightly grease.

  4. Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gently fold with a spatula until just combined and few flour streaks remain.
  5. Fold in 1 cup of chocolate chips and 1 cup of cherries.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared pan. Top with remaining chocolate chips and cherries.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes until edges are set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  8. Cool completely in the pan before slicing to ensure they set properly.

Notes

For cleaner cuts, chill the brownies for an hour before slicing.
