Ingredients
  

Fritter Batter
  • 2 medium Granny Smith apples peeled and diced small
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.33 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1.5 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.33 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
Glaze
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Equipment

  • Deep Skillet or Pot
  • Cookie scoop
  • Wire rack

Method
 

  1. Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and spices in a bowl.
  2. Mix eggs and milk, then combine with dry ingredients.
  3. Fold in diced apples.
  4. Heat oil to 375°F (190°C). Drop spoonfuls of batter into oil.
  5. Fry 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown. Drain on rack.
  6. Whisk glaze ingredients. Dip or drizzle warm fritters generously.

Notes

Dice apples small to ensure they cook through.
