Ingredients
  

For the Alfredo Base
  • 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken rotisserie chicken preferred
  • 1 jar Alfredo sauce 15 oz, thick and creamy consistency
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream optional, for extra richness
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese for the sauce base
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • to salt and black pepper to taste
For the Topping
  • 1 bag frozen tater tots 32 oz
  • 0.5 cup shredded mozzarella cheese for the top layer
For Garnish
  • fresh chopped parsley or chives

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 9x13 inch casserole dish.
  2. Combine shredded chicken, Alfredo sauce, heavy cream (if using), 1 cup mozzarella, Parmesan, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mixture should have a thick, gooey, viscous consistency.
  3. Pour the Alfredo base into the casserole dish and spread evenly.
  4. Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single, even layer over the base.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes until tots are golden and sauce is bubbling vigorously.
  6. Remove from oven. Sprinkle remaining ½ cup of mozzarella evenly over the top.
  7. Return to oven for 5-10 minutes until cheese is completely melted, bubbly, and creates a gooey, viscous layer.
  8. Rest 5 minutes. Garnish with parsley and serve hot, anticipating a dramatic cheese pull.

Notes

Using pre-cooked chicken saves significant time. Ensure your Alfredo sauce is naturally thick, or add cream cheese/heavy cream to boost the thick, viscous consistency. Do not thaw tater tots before use.
