Method
- In a bowl, combine warm milk and 1 tbsp sugar. Sprinkle yeast on top and let bloom for 5-10 minutes.
- Whisk in melted butter, egg, remaining sugar, and salt. Gradually add flour and knead until a soft, tacky dough forms (5-7 mins).
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours until doubled.
- Beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla for filling. Toss chopped strawberries with cornstarch in a separate bowl.
- Roll risen dough into a 12x18 inch rectangle. Spread cream cheese mixture over dough and top with strawberries.
- Roll dough tightly into a log and cut into 12 rolls. Place in a greased 9x13 inch pan.
- Cover and let rise again for 30-45 minutes. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden. Whisk glaze ingredients together.
- Cool rolls for 10 minutes, then drizzle with glaze and serve warm.
Notes
Use dental floss to cut the rolls cleanly without squishing them. Store leftovers in the fridge.
