Ingredients

Dough Base
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour heat treated
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar packed
  • 3 tbsp white sugar
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp milk or cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Mix-ins
  • 0.75 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Equipment

  • Microwave safe bowl or Baking sheet
  • Mixing bowl
  • Hand Mixer or Spatula

Method

  1. Heat treat the flour: Microwave in a bowl for 60-90 seconds, stirring every 15 seconds, until it reaches 160°F. Or bake at 350°F for 5 mins. Let cool.
  2. In a medium bowl, beat softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until light and fluffy (about 2 mins).
  3. Mix in the vanilla extract and salt.
  4. Add the cooled flour and mix until combined. The texture will be crumbly.
  5. Add milk one tablespoon at a time until the dough reaches your desired consistency.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Enjoy immediately or store in the fridge.

Notes

Heat treating the flour is essential to kill any potential bacteria found in raw flour. Do not skip this step.
