Method
- Prep Dough: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Unroll dough and cut into 8-10 thin, uneven strips per hot dog.
- Wrap Mummies: Starting just below the top (for the face), wrap one dough strip around each hot dog diagonally, overlapping to resemble tattered bandages. Leave a small section of hot dog exposed for the face.
- Bake: Place mummies on a dark, non-stick baking sheet. Brush with melted butter if desired. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and puffy.
- Add Eyes: Once cooled slightly, use a toothpick to place two tiny dots of thick, gooey ketchup or mustard on the exposed face area for eyes.
- Serve: Serve immediately with small bowls of thick, gooey ketchup and mustard for dipping.
Notes
For extra gooeyness, place a small sliver of cheese under the dough strips before wrapping. You can also use edible googly eyes instead of sauce dots for the faces.
