Ingredients

For the Halloween Mummy Hot Dogs
  • 1 package Hot Dogs 8-10 count
  • 1 can Refrigerated Crescent Roll Dough 8 oz
  • 1 tbsp Melted Butter optional, for brushing
  • Ketchup or Mustard for dipping and eyes

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Pizza cutter or knife

Method

  1. Prep Dough: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Unroll dough and cut into 8-10 thin, uneven strips per hot dog.
  2. Wrap Mummies: Starting just below the top (for the face), wrap one dough strip around each hot dog diagonally, overlapping to resemble tattered bandages. Leave a small section of hot dog exposed for the face.
  3. Bake: Place mummies on a dark, non-stick baking sheet. Brush with melted butter if desired. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and puffy.
  4. Add Eyes: Once cooled slightly, use a toothpick to place two tiny dots of thick, gooey ketchup or mustard on the exposed face area for eyes.
  5. Serve: Serve immediately with small bowls of thick, gooey ketchup and mustard for dipping.

Notes

For extra gooeyness, place a small sliver of cheese under the dough strips before wrapping. You can also use edible googly eyes instead of sauce dots for the faces.
