Ingredients

Pizza Base
  • 1 lb pizza dough room temperature
  • 0.5 cup pizza sauce marinara
  • 1 tbsp cornmeal for dusting
Toppings
  • 1.5 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 0.5 cup ricotta cheese whole milk
  • 4 oz pepperoni slices cup and char style preferred
  • 2 tbsp hot honey for drizzling
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 0.25 cup fresh basil leaves torn

Equipment

  • Pizza stone or baking sheet
  • Pizza Peel
  • Pizza cutter

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, stretch the pizza dough into a 12-14 inch circle.
  3. Transfer dough to a pizza peel or baking sheet dusted with cornmeal.
  4. Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border for the crust.
  5. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella over the sauce. Drop teaspoon-sized dollops of ricotta cheese evenly across the pizza.
  6. Top generously with pepperoni slices.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden brown and cheese is bubbly.
  8. Remove from oven. Immediately drizzle with hot honey and garnish with fresh basil and oregano before serving.

Notes

If making your own hot honey, gently heat honey with chili flakes on the stove for 5 minutes, then let cool.
