- Toast chopped pecans in a dry skillet over medium heat for 3-5 minutes until fragrant. Remove and set aside.
- Slice chicken breasts into thin cutlets. Season with salt and pepper, then dredge lightly in flour.
- Heat oil in the skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken for 4-5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove chicken to a plate.
- Reduce heat to medium. Add minced garlic to the pan for 30 seconds, then pour in bourbon to deglaze (scrape up browned bits).
- Stir in maple syrup, chicken broth, and soy sauce. Simmer for 3-4 minutes until sauce thickens and bubbles.
- Stir in butter and toasted pecans. Return chicken to the pan to coat in the sauce.
- Serve hot over mashed potatoes with a side of greens.

Substitute apple cider for bourbon for a non-alcoholic version.
