Ingredients

Rolls
  • 1 can Refrigerated Cinnamon Rolls Standard size, typically 8 rolls
Gooey Cream Cheese Glaze
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar Sifted for best results
  • 2 oz Cream Cheese Softened, optional but recommended
  • 1 tbsp Unsalted Butter Softened (if not using cream cheese)
  • 0.5 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1-2 tbsp Milk or Heavy Cream To reach thick, viscous consistency

Equipment

  • 9x5 inch loaf pan or 8x8 inch baking dish
  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk or hand mixer

Method

  1. Preheat oven as directed on can. Grease baking dish.
  2. Separate the rolls and cut each into 4 equal pieces (mini bites).
  3. Arrange the mini cinnamon roll bites tightly together in the prepared dish.
  4. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. They should be thick and soft.
  5. While rolls bake, whisk together powdered sugar, softened cream cheese (if using), butter, vanilla, and milk/cream until it forms a thick, heavy, and viscous glaze.
  6. Remove rolls from oven and immediately drizzle the thick, gooey glaze generously over the warm rolls.
  7. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving directly from the pan.

Notes

For the best thick, gooey texture, use cream cheese in the glaze and add liquid slowly. Glaze the rolls while they are warm so the icing melts slightly and seeps into the dough. Serve warm as a perfect sweet appetizer or breakfast treat.
