Method
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly spray a 9x13 baking dish with cooking spray.
- Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat until cooked through. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in taco seasoning and tomato sauce. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
- Arrange taco shells upright in the baking dish. Optionally spread a teaspoon of beans in the bottom of each shell.
- Fill shells with beef mixture. Top generously with shredded cheese.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly and shells are golden.
- Immediately top with lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, and cilantro before serving.
Notes
Use 'Stand 'n Stuff' shells for easier assembly. If using regular shells, pack them tight or use foil balls to keep them upright.
