Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- Beat egg yolks with 3/4 cup sugar, milk, vanilla, and rose syrup until pale.
- Whip egg whites with remaining sugar to stiff peaks. Fold flour/baking powder into yolks, then fold in whites.
- Pour into pan and bake for 25-30 minutes. Cool completely.
- Whisk condensed milk, evaporated milk, cream, and rose water together.
- Poke holes all over the cooled cake and pour the milk mixture over it. Chill for 4+ hours.
- Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar to stiff peaks. Spread over the soaked cake.
- Garnish with pistachios and rose petals before serving.
Notes
Allowing the cake to soak overnight yields the best texture and flavor distribution.
