- Preheat your waffle iron according to manufacturer instructions. Preheat oven to 200°F (keeps waffles warm).
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and pepper.
- In a separate bowl, beat eggs, milk, and melted butter until well combined.
- Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix until just combined (do not overmix).
- Fold in the diced ham, shredded cheese, and chives gently.
- Grease the waffle iron with cooking spray. Pour batter onto the hot iron (amount depends on iron size).
- Cook for 4-6 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve hot with honey mustard, maple syrup, or a fried egg.
Notes
For extra crispiness, toast leftover waffles in a toaster before eating. Do not microwave.
