Ingredients
  

Main Components
  • 2 packs Spicy Korean instant ramen Shin Ramyun or similar
  • 1 lb ribeye or sirloin steak
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
Creamy Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Kewpie mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp sriracha adjust to taste
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream or milk
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 clove garlic minced
Garnish
  • 2 stalks green onions chopped
  • 1 tsp black sesame seeds

Equipment

  • Cast iron skillet or heavy pan
  • Large pot
  • Mixing bowl
  • Tongs

Method
 

  1. Season the steak generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over high heat until smoking. Sear steak for 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and let rest.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sriracha, heavy cream, sesame oil, and minced garlic.
  4. Boil water in a pot and cook ramen noodles and vegetable flakes for 3 minutes. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup water.
  5. Return noodles to the pot on low heat. Add reserved water, soup seasoning packets, and the creamy sauce mixture. Stir until thick and combined.
  6. Slice the steak against the grain into strips.
  7. Divide noodles into bowls, top with steak, and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

For an extra rich sauce, add a slice of American cheese or an egg yolk during the mixing stage.
