Ingredients
  

Fruit & Nut Base
  • 1 cup walnuts or almonds toasted
  • 1 cup dried plums (prunes) pitted
  • 0.5 cup dried apricots
  • 0.5 cup dried cranberries
  • 1 tbsp orange zest freshly grated
  • 0.25 cup honey
Spices
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp ground cloves
  • 0.25 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 0.25 tsp salt
Coating
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar coarse or sparkling preferred

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Toast walnuts on a baking sheet for 5-7 minutes until fragrant. Cool completely.
  2. Place cooled nuts and spices in a food processor. Pulse until finely chopped.
  3. Add dried fruits, orange zest, and honey. Process until the mixture clumps together into a sticky ball.
  4. Roll tablespoon-sized portions into smooth 1-inch balls using damp hands.
  5. Roll each ball in granulated sugar until generously coated.
  6. Let sit at room temperature for 2 hours to firm up before storing.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
