Ingredients
  

Cookie Dough
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 0.5 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups cornstarch sifted
  • 2-4 tbsp all-purpose flour as needed for consistency
  • 1 tsp baking powder
Topping
  • 0.25 cup powdered sugar for dusting

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Beat softened butter until creamy, then mix in sweetened condensed milk and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Sift in cornstarch and baking powder. Mix well.
  4. Gradually add flour one tablespoon at a time until a soft, moldable dough forms (it should not be sticky).
  5. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on the baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes. Cookies should remain pale on top.
  7. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a rack.
  8. Dust generously with powdered sugar once cooled.

Notes

Handle carefully when hot as they are very fragile.
