Method
- In a small bowl or jar, whisk together all dressing ingredients (soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, chili sauce, ginger, garlic, and optional honey) until emulsified. Set aside.
- Heat the neutral oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Place frozen dumplings in a single layer, flat side down, and cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.
- Carefully add the 1/4 cup of water to the pan (it will steam) and immediately cover with a lid. Reduce heat to medium-low and steam for 5-7 minutes, until dumplings are cooked through.
- Remove the lid and let any remaining water evaporate, allowing the bottoms to re-crisp for another minute.
- In a large serving bowl, combine the coleslaw mix, cooked edamame, chopped cilantro, and most of the green onions.
- Add the hot, cooked dumplings directly to the salad bowl. Pour the prepared dressing over everything.
- Add the toasted almonds and sesame seeds. Toss gently to combine, ensuring everything is coated in the dressing.
- Serve immediately, garnished with the remaining green onions and a fresh lime wedge.
Notes
For an extra crispy version, cook the dumplings in an air fryer at 380°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes. Feel free to add other crunchy vegetables like sliced bell peppers or cucumbers.
