- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef. Drain fat. Add taco seasoning and water, simmer for 3-4 minutes until thick.
- Spread tortilla chips in a single, uneven layer on the baking sheet.
- Sprinkle half the shredded cheese over the chips, creating a protective layer.
- Top with the seasoned ground beef and rinsed black beans.
- Sprinkle the remaining cheese over everything.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is melted, bubbly, thick, and gooey.
- Remove from oven. Top with a lopsided, heavy dollop of guacamole, a gooey dollop of sour cream, diced tomatoes, and cilantro.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
Use thick-cut chips to prevent sogginess. Shredding your own cheese creates a gooier, more viscous melt. Serve immediately for best results.
