Ingredients
  

Cookie Dough
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 0.75 cup dark brown sugar packed
  • 0.33 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 egg yolk large
  • 0.5 tsp maple extract optional
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1.75 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp cinnamon
Dipping
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips or melting wafers
  • 1 tsp coconut oil
  • 1 tsp flaky sea salt for garnish

Method
 

  1. Cream butter and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in egg yolk, maple syrup, vanilla, and maple extract.
  3. Whisk flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon; gradually add to wet ingredients.
  4. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll dough into balls and place on lined baking sheets.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Cool completely on wire racks.
  7. Melt white chocolate with coconut oil. Dip half of each cookie.
  8. Sprinkle with sea salt and let set before serving.

Notes

Chilling the dough is mandatory to prevent spreading. Use high-quality white chocolate for best melting results.
