Ingredients

Punch Base
  • 64 oz purple grape juice creates the **syrupy, viscous** base
  • 2 liters lemon-lime soda or ginger ale chilled
  • 0.5 cup lime juice fresh or bottled, for tang
Gooey Garnish (The Viscosity)
  • 1 package gummy worms green/bright colors preferred for contrast, providing a **gooey, gelatinous texture**
  • 1 tray ice cubes or spooky ice molds

Equipment

  • Large punch bowl or pitcher
  • Serving glasses

Method

  1. Prep the Worms (Optional Step for Extra Gooeyness): For maximum **gooey, slimy effect**, place the gummy worms in a small bowl and refrigerate for 30 minutes. This increases their **viscous, sticky texture** when they hit the cold liquid.
  2. Combine Base: In a large punch bowl or pitcher, pour in the chilled grape juice and the lime juice. The grape juice is naturally **syrupy and viscous**.
  3. Add Fizz: Just before serving, slowly pour in the chilled lemon-lime soda or ginger ale. Stir gently to combine the base without losing all the fizz.
  4. Chill: Add a generous amount of ice to the punch bowl and individual glasses.
  5. Garnish: Ladle the punch into individual glasses. Drape 3-5 of the **sticky, gooey gummy worms** over the rim of each glass and let a few worms settle among the ice cubes for a truly spooky effect. The **syrupy punch** will cling to the **gelatinous worms** as they slowly melt.

Notes

For a darker, 'potion-like' color, you can use black food coloring, but the purple grape juice works great! The sugar content in the grape juice makes the final mixture **syrupy and viscous**, perfect for holding the worms in place. For adult-only punch, add a shot of clear rum or vodka per serving.
